1. Tell me about yourself and what you are passionate about.
My sneaker obsession is legendary amongst those who know me best. I also have mad love for good coffee and 90’s R&B. But if I had to pick one defining passion in my life, it would have to be that I love to learn. Needless to say, I love learning about training, nutrition and personal development. If I’m not reading books and articles, I’m listening to podcasts, attending workshops and seminars, trying new exercises or training methods or picking other coaches’ brains about what they know or believe or the principles they swear by.
2. If you could achieve your fitness goals by waving a magic wand, what would you wish for?
If there’s anything more satisfying than picking up a heavy barbell off the floor, I don’t know about it. There’s so many fitness goals I want to tick off my list but a triple bodyweight deadift is right at the top.
3. When training a client what makes you the happiest?
It’s the little things. Like when someone brand new to exercise starts feeling confident when they are training on their own or when a client starts wearing clothing they were previously too self conscious to wear. Or when a client can finally feel a muscle finally working (usually glutes!) or when a client who started off being barely able to do a bodyweight squat is able to do more advanced exercises or training protocols. It’s such a privilege to be entrusted with my clients’ health and wellbeing and a joy to witness them discover their hidden potential.
4. Favourite Workout Track or Playlist?
Mainly hip hop and R&B with a bit of house music to mix it up. Everything from Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac and Biggie to Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto and Diplo.
5. Favourite Quote?
Set a goal so big that you can’t achieve it until you grow into the person who can.
